Hallo vB Gemeinde,

Also es ist raus. vB2.2.0 (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31953). Das heisst für uns alle, viel Arbeit.:)

Wir werden so schnell wie möglich die Style Dateien upgraden und sie hier im Board zu Verfügung stellen.

Diskussionen und Meinungsaustauch über die neue Version sind hier erwünscht.;)

warum wurde denn, das offizielle deutsche vbulletin-team, nicht schon vorab informiert, um relativ zeitgleich eine deutsche style-version herauszubringen?

und es macht doch jetzt noch wenig sinn ein deutsches admin-cp für die 2.0.3 herauszubringen oder?

ich dachte jetzt wo ihr offiziell seit, würdet ihr die zu übersetzenden dateien schon eher bekommen?!:confused:

Ein deutsches CP für Version 2.0.3 wird es vermutlich nicht mehr geben. Wieso auch? Dafür dann ein deutsches vB 2.2.0....oder vB 3.0.

Es liegt nicht an uns, dass es so schleppend voran geht. Wir sind aber die ganze Zeit am Ball und tuen alles, was möglich ist, um schnellstens eine deutsche Version veröffentlichen zu dürfen.

Wie ungefährlich ist das Update?
In dem US-Support-Forum wird auf Backups per Telnet / SSH hingewiesen..... leider sind Hoster die SSH anbieten in Deutschland eher die Seltenheit und wenn dann erst in den Superteuren paketen.... wie gut sind dann die anderen Verfahren zum Backup oder des wiederhochladens???

es wär vieleicht nicht schlecht wenn ihr mal darauf hinweisen würdet was jetzt genau die Änderungen gegenüber der alten 2.03 Version sind. Da dies ein deutsches Support-Forum ist, natürlich dann auch auf deutsch;)

Normalerweise dürfte nichts passieren wenn Du vB updatest. Die Dev Jungs wollen nur dass Du Sicherheitshalber zuerst ein Backup deiner Datenbank machst und weil oft PHP mit einem Timeout verbunden ist, solltest Du auf jeden Fall nachprüfen ob alles in deinem Backup vorhanden ist bevor Du das Update durchführst.

vBulletin 2.2.1

vBulletin 2.2.1 is a very minor release of vBulletin, including a handful of bug fixes. The main issue that has been fixed is that of the email verification procedure, so if you have that enabled, I would recommend that you upgrade. Otherwise, unless you are experiencing problems, there is no particular need to upgrade, although staying up to date is always a good idea!

This version will be in beta for about 24/48 hours to make sure that any last-minute issues are tackled. Please note that we may, in that period, update the files in the ZIP without notice. Having said that, the code has been happily running on these forums for some time now. When the beta period is ended, an email will be sent out to our customers to announce the new version.

Backing up forums

Please be sure to check your backups, that they are complete before continuing with an upgrade. We had reports that PHP was causing time out errors when creating the back up SQL, and this was causing for incomplete or corrupted backups. The safest way to do a backup is to use the mysqldump utility through telnet, as it will not suffer from any such problems.

New Installation Instructions

For fresh installations, you must run the install.php file in the admin directory. Before you do this, take the config.php.new file, edit it to contain your details, then upload it as config.php to the server.

Then you can run through the install.php script in much the same way as old install scripts. More detailed instructions are in the vBulletin online manual:
